COMPANY ACCOUNTANT
Permanent, Full Time
Ideal Start: January 2014
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga

Baytex is a leading designer and manufacturer of commercial tents, marquees, alloy-framed structures, and sophisticated canopies for both New Zealand and Australia.
 
They are looking for a Senior Level Company Accountant to help them maintain and enhance their position as New Zealand’s leading and most innovative manufacturer of high quality large tents and marquees.
 
This role would suit a senior commercial accountant, preferably with an interest and experience working in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of operational accounting. You will be instrumental in leading the business through changes into cloud based accounting systems and keeping up with other technological advances.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·       Accounts through to PNL Balance Sheets, Monthly and Year End
·       Financial statements and management reporting
·       Cashflow management, international money transactions and foreign exchange
·       Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable
·       Completion of GST and BAS returns for NZ and Australia
·       Preparation of statutory compliance and tax returns
·       Debtors, Creditors and Credit Control
·       Managing the office workflow, administration and part time office staff
·       Involvement in stock taking for manufacturing business
·       Electronic banking and batches payments
·       Handling quoting and invoicing
·       Transfer of accounting functions through to new XERO accounting software
 
To be considered for this role you will have:
·       Senior level accounting experience
·       Experience with Stock Management / POS Systems
·       Experience with XERO would be an advantage.
·       Budgets and Forecasting experience would be ideal but not essential
·       Experience with MoneyWorks accounting software is an advantage
·       Advanced MS Excel skills for spreadsheets
·       Good interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a team
·       The right attitude with energy, enthusiasm and initiative for your work 
  • Ability to drive system implementation and improvement processes
·       General HR and Payroll experience (not essential)
